Una noche con "EVITA"

El teatro San Pedro Playhuose está ubicado en San Pedro Avenue en la ciudad de San Antonio. La infraestructura es impresionantemente imponente, tanto por fuera y por dentro. Una de las últimas presentaciones que tiene en escena es "EVITA". Esta vez el grupo IALS tuvo la oportunidad de asistir a la presentación de “EVITA”, gracias al apoyo voluntario de muchos de los integrantes en los arreglos del teatro antes del estreno de la obra. La obra trata sobre Eva Perón, una figura polémica de la política Argentina. Ella nació el 7 de mayo de 1919 en la localidad de los Toldos de la provincia de Buenos Aires. Llega a la cuidad buscando un futuro mejor, para ser más preciso, siempre quiso ser famosa. Después de muchas odiseas logra esta ansiada fama. En Buenos Aires da los primeros pasos. Primero, en las portadas de revistas no muy reconocidas y después en las más reconocidas de Argentina a fines de los años 30. Su vida cambia en 1944 cuando conoce a Juan Perón, quien ocupaba en ese tiempo un cargo importante en la política Argentina. Eva, conocida como actriz, cambia su vida, primero, como amante del coronel Perón y luego convirtiéndose su esposa. Eva incursiona en la política de manera acertada y es muy bien visto por el pueblo argentino. Todo esto es aprovechado por su esposo en la campaña presidencial y luego, el coronel Perón es elegido presidente de Argentina. Eva, en muchas oportunidades reemplazo a su esposo presidente llevando ayuda a los más necesitados. El trabajo realizado por Eva fue impresionante y se convirtió en un icono para Argentina, ya que nadie en muchos años se había preocupado tanto como Eva por los pobres de ese país. Toda esto es narrado en la obra “EVITA”. Se tocan sobre la historia de Eva a grandes rasgos. Casi toda la obra es cantada y muchas de ellas, bailadas. La música es preciosa. El coro y la corografía espectacular. La sincronización de los actores es impresionante casi perfecta. Uno de los personajes más entrañables es el Che, un personaje cómico en ciertos momentos y en otros no. Aparte de mujeres guapas, se ve actores mayores y niños de casi de 6 años. En mi pobre ingles, no pude entender casi nada de lo que se decía en la obra, pero a través de los gestos y la historia pude disfrutar de un buen momento. En su mayoría del público asistieron personas mayores, con la excepción del grupo IALS. Fue una preciosa noche, muy diferente a las usuales noches que tenemos el grupo IALS.

Days Saturday and Sunday September 5 and 6 respectively, there was an exhibition of big insects in the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The designs made from plant stalk is really surprising. In these photos we can see the beautiful exhibition.

Internship in Medina River Natural Park

The first two weeks of August, IASL group split into several groups to perform Internship work as volunteers in different institutions of San Antonio. Jose Ramon, Fernando, Fabiola and I went to Medina River Natural Park, which has extensive field with a trail about two miles long, bikes trail and a river where you can fish free. The scenery of the park is accessible to all peoples, and has a beautiful view of the road. It also has a very quiet river and where you can see majestic trees and also to grow small green. It is a treat where for a moment live in and with nature. It is a very appropriate place to rest from the noise, stress, and the labyrinths that can exist in a big city as San Antonio. Usually in this park we can see older people in most cases accompanied by their pets that they will walk approximate one hour. Our job was to design a bird figure, located at the entrance of the park near the offices of responsible peoples for maintenance. The first day, Gail Dugelby, we intrude Eduardo, who was in charge of teaching us how to use the machine to work the land. We did this job for two weeks; first we get up bad land for good land then put in compost. This was highly amused at times. Eduardo native of Mexico, every day we had the incidents that had happened to reach Unite State. He had such enthusiasm as these times have days were over. Now, he has a secure job in the Medina Park and their children student in University and the youngest still in high school. Susan Blaker, Susan Campbell and Gail Dugelby you came to see us. It was the only opportunity where we could practice English and that they had an office job. Sometimes, after 11:00 am we were on a moment to offices and Susan Campbell, she with very kindly showed us some pictures of this trips to Mexico. Other times we were able to show pictures of our country and our communities. The two weeks was a constant routine work, picks, shovels, dust of the eart and the exaggerated sun in Texas. Sincerely, I would have liked more English practice, but we could know something about plants in Texas, real stories like Eduardo and one more experience to be able to form as professional and be part of the development personal and development of our communities.
